Wooden costume doll from Palestine, 1919
Wooden doll. Bound sticks form the body and legs with stuffing for the rudimentary arms. The head is a cloth covered wooden disc with penciled fetures, moustache and a fringe of hair. Wearing a long loose robe of strong cotton (navy blue with maroon and gold stripes, with long trailing sleeves, secured at the waist with red paisley patterned knotted sash. A lock of black hair sticks up out of the navy blue cotton head scarf.
