Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Plate, soft-paste porcelain, near white translucency, and lustrous glaze containing specks of grit; standing on a shallow foot ring, rim moulded in six large and six small lobes; painted in the centre with a polychrome forest landscape containing a wolf brought to bay by hounds, and with a horseman in the background, waved gilt band at the cavetto, the rim with bright green ground, reserved with three panels painted with flowers within foliate cartouches and sprays of raised gilding; the enamels with the usual iridescence.
