Heraldic floor tile, reconstructed from four fragments (possibly from different tiles of the same design), featuring the arms of Earl Gilbert de Clare, Lord of Glamorgan; a shield of arms, set diagonally, a gold (or) background and three red (gules) chevrons. Formal floral and leaf motifs springing from the top and sides and originally 5 roundels (only four present).
De Clare was a benefactor of the abbey, and a descendant of Robert Consul, for the good of whose soul the abbey had been founded.
