Banner

Multi coloured vinyl Iris Prize Festival banner, 2018. The banner was designed by Anna Jacks, and was primarily used in the upper bar of Cineworld, Cardiff.

The Iris Prize, established in 2007 by Berwyn Rowlands of The Festivals Company, is an international LGBTQ+ film prize and festival.

Large banner in portrait format, top and bottom edges are folded back and adhered in place. The turn-back is large enough to allow for insertion of a pole or rod for display. Along the top edge, a hole has been made in this sleeve in two places, presumably relating to the hanging mechanism. The design featues two stylised figures with a light bulb on the top and a film camera on the lower part of the banner. In the centre there is a film strip. The figure in the foreground is holding a clapper board, has light coloured skin and is wearing black and white striped trousers, an orange and pink top; the person has orange spiky hair and is wearing a large hooped earring. The second figure has brown skin and long, purple hair and is holding a film camera.
