Teapot, soft-paste porcelain, inset base, cylindrical sides, flat shoulder and raised cylindrical lip-rim, plain curving spout, ear-shaped loop handle with a moulded leaf at the shoulder and foliate moulding to the upper terminal, round flat cover with to the centre a bud-shaped finial; decorated in polychrome enamels with around the exterior lower body of the teapot and the centrre of the cover a series of horizontal bands made up of a repeated sprig pattern in pink and green, around the exterior upper body and shoulder of the teapot and the rim of the cover three bands of irregular and interlacing chevrons in red and blue, gilt lines around the foot-rim, upper body, shoulder, lip-rim and the lip of the spout of the teapot and around the rim and centre of the cover, the handle and finial picked out in gilt.
