A tin box supplied by the manufacturers, Nobel's Explosives, for storing explosive detonators. Formerly contained 100 detonators, referred to by the men as 'ciaps'. Full tins were stored in a separate section of the explosives stores, in a sawdust filled cupboard secured by a brass/copper padlock. 'Ciaps' were insered to detonate a charge of dynamite. Tin is painted yellow, with black lettering.
