Baker, Bevans and Irwin, Glamorgan Pottery (1813-1839)
Jug, earthenware, rounded foot-rim, bulbous body, cylindrical neck, raised beak spout, bracket-shaped handle with raised thumb-spur; transfer-printed in blue with to the body the 'Cottage Girl' pattern, in the foreground a female figure holds a hoop around her body whilst stooping to pick up two wooden pails, a playful dog looks on, in the background a rural landscape with trees, hills and some buildings, wide border to the interior and exterior neck and spout of flowers, foliage and scrolls enclosing diaper and scale patterns, running border of flowers and foliage to the handle.
