Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
jacquard double weave; supposedly based on John Roberts handloom double cloth with Caernarfon Castle, this machine woven version has pictorial representation of Aberystwyth university building, entitled, COLEG PRIFYSGOL CYMRU, and below a similar, but not identical representation of Caernarfon castle, entitled CASTELL CAERNARVON' woven inscription above buildings also: CYMRU FYDD / CYMRU FU; above and below the pictorial motifs are row of four leeks flanked by dragon motifs; there is a border of mixed floral and leek motifs, worked diagonally in corners; ends have been overstitched at a later date; sides are selvage; colours: rust red and grey/blue wools.
