Jar and cover

Loosdrecht

Jam pot and cover, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a flat base, flared sides, slightly domed cover with egg-shaped finial; decorated in polychrome enamels, on one side with a river scene, a house to the left, two figures on the right bank facing out to the river, trees to the right, opposite a small vignette surrounded by four flower sprigs (blue, pink, orange and blue) and one leaf sprig; cover decorated with a river scene, a figure on a river bank, opposite a small vignette with a wooden sign post, two flower sprigs inbetween, (purple and orange), gilt border around foot, dentil gilt border to lip and rim of cover, gilding to finial.
