Teapot, earthenware,oval shape, rounded slightly spreading foot-rim, gently curving sides sloping inwards at the shou;der, raised neck, plain curving spout the tip of which has broken off, square-shouldered loop handle with two raised spurs, oval domed cover, an oval plateau-topped finial with diamond-shaped point to the centre of the cover, a pierced steam hole to one side of the cover; the exterior of the teapot, the interior neck, the upperside of the cover and the finial covered with silver lustre and decorated with silver resist techniques with around the sides of the teapot a wide border of chevrons and spreading twigs, the exterior of the neck and the rim of the cover decorated with a border of zig-zags of spear-shaped leaves.
