Plate, hybrid paste porcelain, greyish paste, with slight greenish translucency, the glaze with pin holes and grit inclusions; circular, plain everted rim, standing on a shallow foot ring; painted with elaborate trompe l'oeil decoration, reserved against a gold ground, comprising five playing cards, a sheet of music titled 'CAMDEN TOWN', an envelop post-marked Monday 1 O Clock, a pamphlet with violet paper cover, titled 'THE PICTURE of LONDON for 1809 BEING A G(UI)DE ..',another pamphlet with plain paper cover '124, Price Threepence, containing RELIGIOUS PIECES by Langhorne Moir & Goldsmith of Literary Mi.. EX.. fro.. THE GR..', and a red leather pocket book, all largely overlaying four other papers, and in the centre a printed trade card 'I. DAVIS, Cole Brook Dale, China & Staffordshire Warehouse & CUT GLASS MANUFACTORY : No.56, Red Lion Street Foundling Hospital. Families served with complat services on the shortest notice. Coats of arms, Crests & Elegantly Gilt & Enameled : Goods lent for Routs.'
