S.S. ELFRIEDE CHARLOTTE BECKER (777 Grt.). Built in 1921 by N.V Scheepswerf v/h A. Baars & Zonen, of Sliedrecht (Netherlands - yard no. 5). She was completed as MARIA PEULEN for N.V. Stoomvaart Maatschappij 'Maria Peulen' (Peulen & Klip mgrs.), of Rotterdam. In 1923, she became a Welsh-owned vessel when sold to M. Wakley & Co. Ltd., of Cardiff, who renamed her LECKWITH. Later in 1923 she was sold to Tramm & Co. mbH., Hamburg and renamed CHARLOTTE. In 1926, she was sold to Johs. Thode, Altona (Germany) and renamed ELFRIEDE CHARLOTTE BECKER. In 1946, the ship was handed over to the USSR as a war reparation and was renamed SYR-DARYA. In 1960, she was deleted from Lloyd's Register due to lack of information.
