Foolscap copy book with lined and plain pages and brown paper covers (in poor condition). Contains notes and sketches made by David Thomas, later tailor of Cross Inn, when an apprentice student at the Tailor and Cutter Academy in London, 1915. Includes pattern draughts and detailed notes concerning making up for items of servants' livery (grooms' and footmen's coats, pantry waistcoats), hunting frock coat, ladies riding coat, mackintosh, skirt, military service patrol khaki and other military items, highland dress jacket and tartan trews, boys' sailor blouses and jackets. Also contains a colour fashion plate of women's two piece suits, about 1914-15, printed by John Williamson Co Ltd, 42 Gerrard Street, London, with a pencil sketch on the back.
