Black paper fan with painted flowers and wooden guards and sticks.
Paper is adhered to wood. Paper has embossed moiré effect; front is hand-painted with purple and white flowers, silver and grey paint also used, silver painted line along top edge.
Front of sticks painted with design in thin silver lines on white ground. Guards painted black. Sticks and guards are joined together with dome-headed iron pin . A hoop for suspension is attached to either side of pin: it is made of a narrow strip of brass.
