Obverse only. The King crowned and in royal robes, seated beneath a gothic-type canopy, on a throne whose side panels are engraved with: dext. fleurs-de-lis; sin. roses. At his feet, two lions couchant guardant addorsed. In canopied side panels, dext. a shield, FRANCE (Modern), below which panelling engraved with nine fleurs-de-lis; sin. a shield, quarterly, FRANCE (Modern) and ENGLAND, beneath which panelling engraved with roses. No men-at-arms in further panels, simply tracery. The initial āsā of the legend is reversed.
