Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
A wide-mouthed bowl with heavy bulbous rim of thick, black fabric with brown, burnished exterior and soapy texture. The fabric contains numerous white inclusions and large grits, some of which are calcareous and have weathered out of the clay. The wall of the pot has fractured along the line of a coil about 2.5cm below the rim and in section it can be seen that the rim was formed by the addition of a coil of clay to the outer wall.
