Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
A 'flattened pestle' type of perforated macehead. The butt is domed and the broad lower end evidently also had a convex surface, but the greater part of this has been broken off, leaving a scar which extends on one side as far as the perforation. The perforation is placed nearer to the butt than the broad end and is cylindrical. Oval in section.
Site Name: Cilgwyn cromlech, Carnedd Meibion-Owen
Notes: Item found on recently ploughed land about 100 yards east of the cromlech. The cromlech is on the western side of Carnedd Meibion-Owen, a ridge running northwards from the main ridge of the Prescelly Hills to the northwest of the area, between Cerrig Marchogion and Carn Meini.
