'British Press Pictures of the Year' medal. Awarded to Melville Parry for his photograph of Merthyr policeman Vic James saving Susan Maybank during the Aberfan diaster 1966. Aberfan was Mr Parry's first assigment as a press photographer, he was seventeen years old.
