Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Burgundy coloured faux, patent leather with a distressed wrinkle effect, 1970s. The belt is made from one piece approximately 8cm wide, which has been folded in falf and adhered to itself, with the seam on the inside. The ends are curled around the bands on each side of the clasp and fixed with two eyelets per side. The clasp features a Celtic design. It is made in solid metal which has been plated to give a shiny white metal finish. It consists of two separate pieces which are symmetrical halves of the design, one half has a flattened hook in the centre and the other half has a co-responding slit/hole.
