Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Cow bell constructed in four pieces. Basic shape cut from a single piece of brass-plated sheet steel/iron which was folded in half loosely. Then sides where formed by bending the sheet to overlap and held with a fold at the top and two rivets on each length. Tapers in at the top and has a kick out at the base. Has a cast oblong hanging loop at the top to take leather strap which would have gone round cow's neck. Inside, a cast eye has been attached through the top of the bell. From this has been suspended the spherical clapper on a steel rod with an eye at the top passing through the other eye.
