KING ALFRED (3) (6919gt). Built 1941 as EMPIRE RAY by Greenock Dockyard Co. Ltd., Greenock, for MoWT. She was converted for a time to a Catapult Armed Merchant (CAM) ship. 1945 – Sold to King Line Ltd., and renamed KING ALFRED, managed by Philipps, Philipps & Co., She was laid up in 1962 and broken up at Hamburg in 1963.
