The tall headboard has three vertical panels beneath two horizontal ones, all fielded. The framing is of oak, the panels are of pine. The low footboard has one fielded horizontal panel and is of oak. The two side rails have three horizontal panels let into a moulded framework, double tenoned at each end with iron hooks for hooking into head and foot boards. There are two stretchers of pine. There is evidence that the foot post originally extended upwards to support a canopy now missing.
