Tankard

Tankard and cover, hard-paste porcelian, cylindrical shape, standing on a flat base, tall sides, C-scroll handle with scroll terminal, tlat top cover attached by a metal hinge with shell thumb piece, decorated opposite the handle with three chinoiserie figues, one holding a fan, another wearing an elaborate hat, the third a child reaching forward with plants and table, standing on a platform with gilt and dark brown patternwork and scrolling below, sides also decorated with four butterflies and six sprays of Chinese flowers with pink, blue, yellow and green flowers, ornamental gilt border to rim, gilt highlighting to handle. Cover decorated with an applied strawberry finial with associated stem and leaves, painted, decorated with a chinoiserie figure seated with plants either side, standing on a platform, gilt and brown scrollwork below, ornamental gilt border around rim.
