Mr Vivian Hughes' father, Mr Griffith Samuel Hughes, worked at Dinorwig Quarry Hospital from the 1920s onwards as a dispenser, and was also in charge of emergency aid. He and his wife Marie Therese de Wulf lived as caretakers in the hospital until Mr Hughes' death in 1962.
