Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
One of seven Welsh Folk Museum Answer Books completed by Griffith R. Jones, Deiniolen in 1967, (MS 1471.6-12) and containing notes on various subjects including the connection between Llys Bryn refail and Prince Llywelyn, a copy of the obituary of Abel Jones (Y Bardd Crwst) who died in 1877, a copy of a poem by 'Gabwys', on the tragedy in Pwllheli in 1889, and memories of Plas y Glyn in Anglesey between 1799 and 1941. Answer Books were sent out by the Welsh Folk Museum to individuals across Wales as a way of collecting and documenting information on aspects of folk culture in their areas, including agriculture, crafts, food, customs and dialects. The responses were hand-written in the books. The Answer Books had a similar purpose to the earlier questionnaires sent out in 1937.
