Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Reverse. Cromwell, wearing armour, riding hose or leggings, with head uncovered and riding on a horse prancing to dexter, a sash over his right shoulder and under his left shoulder; his right hand holds a baton or staff, his left hand the reins; a long narrow sword attached to his left side. In base, beyond the horse’s legs, a representation of the River Thames and the City of London (with St Paul’s, London Bridge, and St Saviour’s church). A small fleur-de-lis seems to appear between the horse’s hind legs. Above the horse’s tail, an ornamental shield: arms as on obverse.
