Teapot and cover, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain; standing on a moulded pedestal foot, ovoid body, and raised collar with ogee-profile; serpent head spout, moulded with ridges at base and dentil moulding; loop handle moulded with palmettes, scroll with embossed floret disk, terminating with two leaves and dentil moulding; flat inset cover with entwined dolphins finial; painted in monochrome purple enamel, on one side with a cupid playing a long trumpet horn, the other side with a cupid holding a bow and arrow; cover painted with a bow and arrow, and bag of arrows; gilt continuous scroll pattern inside lip and around cover, gilding to handle and spout mouldings; gilt bands to foot, shoulder, and lip.
