Watchmaker's rolltop workbench, once belonged to John Williams, a wounded Second World War soldier who spent years recouperating at the Star and Garter Hospital, Richmond. It was there he was taught the skills of watch-repairing and following a visit to the hospital by Lord Nuffiueld, he was presented with the workbench, commissioned and paid for by Nuffield.
