Plate, earthenware with a plain rim leading to a slightly concave flange, cushion-moulded profile and plain ring foot rim; the plate has a clear glaze with extensive staining and craquelure, the rim is embellished with two bands of gilding around the rim, at the centre of the plate is a transfer-printed image of a boy in a landscape, the boy is sat atop the 'Rocking Stone' at Pontypridd, a bridge and church can be see at the far left horizon, the grass is crudely overpainted in green enamel and the stone, church and bridge in yellow enamel.
