Small mouth and upper face fragment. Long mouth with rounded upper mouth moulding and possible though only faintly visible lower mouth moulding. Curving of the face at both sides indicates that the axe was never much wider than the surviving mouth width, therefore this fragment was from an axe with a narrow face and with rounded rather than angular face edges. No ribs, roundels or pellets present. Narrow form, double mouth moulding and rounded face edges suggest this is from a Sompting type axe, rather than an Armorican axe.
