Wooden costume doll, thought to be in costume from Nazareth
Wooden doll. Bound sticks for body, arms and splayed legs, the head is a round wooden disc with pencilled features, 'caste' mark on forehead. Wearing long, baggy green trousers with white lining tied at the waist with tape. Red and white spotted cotton dress, covered by a long slit-sided robe of deep blue silk with emerald trim. Thick, lined red jacket bound at the waist with a paisley pattern sash knotted at the back. White and blue flowered pattern cotton veil tied round head with turquoise wool decoration, bunch of real hair appearing under veil which continues down the back in a plait. Thought to be a costume from Nazareth.
