Teacup and saucer, mixed or duck egg paste, both with a distinct green translucency; the cup standing on a rounded foot rim, London shape tapering and angled sides, thick curvaceous ogee handle; conventional shaped saucer on a shallow foot rim; the cup decorated on the interior with a broad band of underglaze blue with two groups of red and white chrysanthemum heads and gilt scrolls and foliage between two oval reserves of flowers on a white ground, the exterior with two pale blue pierced rocks a bird and flowers and foliage above an oriental fence. The saucer is similarly decorated with three oval reserves of flowers and with the pale blue rocks in the centre within a salmon pink border embellished with gilt foliage. Swansea set pattern 219.
