Small plate, earthenware, circular shape with inset base, curving sides and spreading rim, a raised ridge around the edge of the well, the rim moulded with embossed flower heads issuing foliage and separated by raised ridges running from the edge of the rim to the edge of the well, the edge of the rim lobed; transfer-printed in blue with to the centre of the well a scene showing a male figure riding a pony against a background of trees and bushes, a green colour has been sponged over part of the scene and the figure's trousers have been painted in yellow, above the scene is the inscription "Yet steady are thy motions all / I never knew thee slip or Fall / So gentle to the pat or call / Art thou my PONY", the moulded flowers and foliage to the rim overpainted in yellow, blue and green.
