Letter sent by The Cunard Ship Company Limited to Hugh Ladd informing him that no trace of his brother, Owen Ladd, has been found following the sinking of the RMS Lusitania.
Owen Ladd lost his life when the RMS Lusitania was struck by a German torpedo on 7 May 1915. He was born in 1882, the son of William and Phoebe Ladd, The Mount, Eglwyswrw, north Pembrokeshire. In 1911 he left Wales to join his brother, David, who was a timber merchant in Winnipeg, Canada. In May 1915 he was returning to Wales to visit his family. He was also considering enlisting in the military.
