Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Stick chair made of oak and ash, from Treforest, south Wales, mid-1800s. The arms and back of the chair demonstrates how wood could be bent using basic tools. The wood was firstly shaped with a knife to make a thin section that would then be heated and bent using steam.
