IXIA (3) (7201gt) : Built 1944 as EMPIRE KUMASI by William Hamilton & Co Ltd, Port Glasgow (with triple-expansion engine by Fairfield Shipbuilding & Engineering Co Ltd., Glasgow), for MoWT managed by Joseph Robinson & Sons 1946 – Sold to Stag Line Ltd., and converted from coal to oil burning. Renamed IXIA in 1947. 1951 – Sold to Century Shipping Corporation, Liberia, and renamed EMPIRE TRADER. 1954 – Sold to Compagnia Atlantica Pacifica SA, Liberia, and renamed NORTH RIVER.
