Teapot, earthenware, rounded oblong shape with rounded foot, bulbous sides, shelving collar at the shoulder with a raised ridge around the body just below it, lobed lip-rim with a larger raised lobe above the spout, the lip-rim moulded with flower heads and scrolls, curved fluted spout, scrolling handle with raised thumb-spur and further inner spur lower down, slightly domed cover rising to a flower head finial, moulded ridges radiating out from the top of the cover, a small perforated hole to the cover; transfer-printed in blue with a 'split' print pattern, to either side of the body a central group of flowers, foliage and scrolls flanked by two smaller group of foliage, scrolls and a perching bird, a small scene of a female figure with dogs in a garden landscape to the lower spout, ribbbon and flower border to the shoulder, part of the interior lip-rim and the edge of the cover, a running border of small flowers and foliage to the handle, blue markings to the finial.
