Sash worn by Rosemary James (1930-2019) when she was crowned Miss Llyswen, 1950s. Red with fringe at both ends. 'Miss Llyswern' hand painted in gold on one side.
Sash made from red silk ribbon, with hand-inscribed lettering (using metallic gold ? paint). Red fringe made from finely-knitted strands which are arranged in loops; the loops are of varying lengths which form a wavy/zig-zag pattern. Sash is hand-stitched together in such a way that it can be worn draped diagonally across the chest, i.e. the stitches are under the left arm.
