Armchair or throne, oak, the front legs in the form of clustered columns, back legs plain; front and side rails ornamented with quatrefoils flanking a horizontal spindle motif; arms supported on a cusped four-centred arch, sides of seat with five upstanding trefoils; open back with similar trefoils below an arcade of six gothic arches; top arched and cusped over four trefoils and an inserted scallop shell. Sides repaired (metal insertions) and legs probably reduced by about 5 cm (2"). Execution reasonable but not exceptional quality; with a modern crimson velvet squab on the boarded seat.
