Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Handle and hinged lid of a jug, with escutcheon missing. The trilobate lid is provided with a thumb-lever (now broken) probably in the shape of a duck, set facing the handle. The two holes close by are of uncertain purpose, for this form of the lid is not usually perforated.Such a handle is found on both globular and the more angular profiled jugs. Hinged lids of this form are common in pre-Flavian contexts in Britain and are doubtless imports.
