Davy flame safety lamp carried by Enoch Thomas who was killed in the Cymmer Colliery explosion, 15 July 1856. Enoch Thomas was reported as being killed by ‘suffocation’ (carbon monoxide poisoning) in ‘Stall 2’ alongside Peter Griffiths. ‘Enoch Thomas’ and ‘15th July 1856’ inscribed between the pillars of the lamp.
