Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Lower part of a spherical bottle with figure-cut decoration. The decoration shows a scene most likely to be mythological. There are five figures: 1. Part of a seated, draped female figure wearing a peplum and long robe over her knees, with a palm branch in front. 2. A man’s bare legs, striding with a whisp of drapery across loins. 3. Seated figure of Triton (sea god) with part of a curved scaly tail. 4. The back leg and forepaw of a prancing four legged animal. 5. The feet of a male figure, mirroring those of the other male figure.
There is a ground line of oblique wheel – cut groves. The cuts are deep – 3mm max, which is half the thickness of the glass.
