Cup, soft-paste porcelain, standing on a straight-sided foot-rim, rounded bottom and cylindrical sides, very slightly flared lip-rim, plain grooved handle; the exterior sides covered with a scale blue ground against which are reserved a number of panels, the two larger panels are painted in polychrome enamels with exotic birds perched on branches, the eight smaller panels are painted in polychrome enamels with a variety of different insects, the panels enclosed by cartouches of rococo scrolls in gilt, a gilt edge to the lip-rim, gilt markings to the handle. Saucer, soft-paste porcelain, standing on a high tapering foot-rim with curving sides and spreading rim; the upperside covered with a scale blue ground against which are reserved a number of panels, the three larger panels are painted in polychrome enamels with exotic birds perched on branches, the nine smaller panels and the central panel are painted in polychrome enamels with a variety of different insects, the panels enclosed by cartouches of rococo scrolls in gilt, a gilt edge to the rim.
