Edward Medal awarded to Thomas Thomas.
On 21st September 1933, there was an inrush of water at Brynamman Colliery, Glamorgan. Thomas, at the risk of his own life, helped a youth who had lost his lamp to rejoin other colliers. He then helped them to safety through a flooded roadway in two groups, himself being the last to leave.
