Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Tripod pitcher, lightly decorated with widely spaced alternating bands of wavy and straight combing; deeply concave strap handle with deep diagonal slashing. The lower front has been severely abraded by being rocked forward for pouring, which has also worn down the front foot. Just above the base angle on the right side a hole (whether a fault in manufacture or caused during use) has been repaired with a lead plug. Period 3
Wear on the base shows that this jug was rocked forward to pour water, beer or cider. About 1220 CE.
