THEOKEETOR. Built 1942 as EMPIRE THACKERAY by Sir J. Laing & Sons Ltd., Sunderland for MoWT. 1945 – Sold to Rodney Steamship Co Ltd., and renamed THACKERAY (managed by Anglo-Danubian Transport Co Ltd., London. She ran aground at Outer Cat Island, Newfoundland in December 1946, but refloated in May 1947 and repaired at St. John’s. 1948 – Sold to M.S. Polemis, Greece, and renamed THEOKEETOR (managed by Goulandros Bros. Ltd). 1953 – Sold to Compagnia Commercial Transatlantica SA.., Panama, and renamed MOZART (managed by S. Polemis of New York). 1954 – Sold to Cia. Nav. Micaela SA, Italy, and renamed MICAELA. 1960 – Operated by Societa Armamento Marittimo, Italy, and renamed ONORATO SECONDO. 1962 – Sold to Polska Zegluga Morska, Poland, and renamed JELCZ. She was broken up at Ystad, Sweden, in May 1968.
