European Union hand flag (12 gold stars on a dark blue background) with a wooden stick. New and unused. Acquired from the European Commission Office in Wales following its closure in Feburary 2020. On 31 January 2020, the United Kingdom left the European Union. As a result, the European Commission Representation in the UK ceased all activities on 1 February 2020, meaning that its Office in Wales closed. The closure of the EC Office in Wales marked the end of a 44 year presence in Cardiff (1976-2020).

Blue and yellow print on tabby woven, synthetic fabric; narrow double turn-back secured with single line of machine stitches using blue thread. Edge bound with a tabby-woven, white synthetic fabric which forms a pole sleeve, secured with white machine stitches. Rounded wooden pole with shaped gold-coloured plastic cap at the top loosely inserted through sleeve.
