Women’s police hat circa late 1990’s Bowler hat shaped crown with a small brim which is turned up at the sides and back, the edge is turned to the inside and machine sewn with black thread. The crown is made from hard black plastic (covered in black felt) with a foam pad in the centre to support the crown (the hat is reinforced to protect the wearer). Trimmed with a black and white chequered hat band, it is joined with a seam at the back and held tightly around the crown, it is only fixed by the badge at the front of the hat. The white metal badge for sits just over lapping the hatband, it is a circular shape with a crown on top and ER insignia.
