Roman bone pin
Onion-shaped polished bone pin-head with two lathe-turned lines around the tip. At the base a separate antler shank has been inserted. It has been suggested that a similar head from the Broch of Burrian was intended to take a metal shank (MacGregor 1975, 71, No 111) but there is no indication that the shank in question is a replacement. Condition: shank broken off.
