Tray, iron-plate, long octagonal form with straight flaring sides and two curved hand-holes cut into the narrower ends; covered all over with a black japan, decorated in shades of bronze, gold and red with a wide border of flowers between stripes of crimson, around the sides a border of overlapping acanthus leaves in shades of gold and copper gold.
